Homefolio

Homefolio is a private catalog of the things you own, so you can prove what you had if you ever need to. It is built to collect nothing about you — no account, no sign-up, no tracking, no ads, and no analytics.

What we collect

Nothing about you personally. There are no accounts to create and no email to enter. The developer runs no server that could receive your inventory. The app contains no analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs.

What is stored, and where

Everything you put into Homefolio is stored on your device using Apple's SwiftData:

• Your rooms and items — names, descriptions, categories, quantities, brands, models, serial numbers, conditions, purchase dates, purchase prices, replacement costs, warranty dates, and notes
• Photos of your belongings, and any receipts, invoices, appraisals, or manuals you attach
• Your preferences, and the claim details you may enter for a report (such as a policy or claim number), which are kept only in local app settings on that device

iCloud sync

If you are signed into iCloud, Homefolio uses Apple's CloudKit to keep your inventory in sync across your own iPhone and iPad. This is important to understand precisely:

• Your data goes into your own private iCloud database, held in your Apple account under Apple's terms and privacy policy.
• The developer has no access to it, cannot read it, and operates no server that receives it.
• Sync is between your own devices only. Nothing is shared with anyone else.
• If you sign out of iCloud or turn iCloud off for the app, Homefolio keeps working with the copy on your device.

Apart from this sync with your own iCloud account, Homefolio makes no network requests of any kind.

Photos and files

You add photos with the camera or through the system Photos picker, and documents through the system file picker. The app receives only the specific items you choose — it is not granted access to your whole photo library or file system. Photos are resized and stored with the item.

Exports

When you export a PDF report, a CSV, or a backup, the file is created on your device and handed to the system share sheet. You choose where it goes. The app does not upload it anywhere. A report you share may contain detailed information about your belongings and any claim details you entered, so share it only with people you intend to — such as your own insurance adjuster.

Notifications

Warranty reminders are optional. If you turn them on, the app asks your permission and schedules local notifications on your device. They are created and delivered entirely on your device; no dates or item details are sent anywhere.

Face ID / Touch ID

You can optionally turn on an app lock. It uses Apple's LocalAuthentication only to confirm it's you before showing your inventory. The app does not access, receive, or store any biometric data — that stays within the system.

Deleting your data

Deleting an item or room removes it. Deleting the app removes the copy on that device; to remove the synced copy, delete the app's data from iCloud in your device's iCloud settings. You can export a full backup at any time before deleting anything.

Not insurance advice

Homefolio is a personal record-keeping tool. It is not an insurance company, agency, adjuster, or advisor, and is not affiliated with or endorsed by any insurer or government agency. It does not give insurance, legal, tax, or financial advice, and cannot tell you what your policy covers, what your limits are, or what your claim is worth. Homefolio does not calculate depreciation or actual cash value. Values in the app and in exported reports are your own estimates, entered by you and unverified.

Children

Homefolio is a general-audience app and does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children under 13. (It collects nothing from anyone.)
